Polymaker’s strength lies in consistency. Reviews from All3DP, Tom’s Hardware, and the community on Reddit and the Prusa forum repeatedly agree that PolyLite PLA hits the declared diameter tolerance of ±0.03 mm and prints without significant extrusion fluctuations. PolyLite PETG ranks among the most recommended options for functional parts, where dimensional stability and minimal warping determine usability.
The weakness is price. Standard PolyLite PLA in the Czech Republic ranges around 600 to 750 CZK per kilogram depending on color and seller, PolyTerra around 550 to 650 CZK, PolyMax PLA significantly higher (around 850 CZK). Engineering materials like PolyMide CoPA or PolyCarbonate sell for 1500 to 2500 CZK per kilogram, which is comparable to Prusament in the same category.
Who Polymaker suits: users who want one brand covering the whole range from basic PLA to engineering materials and who value consistency between batches. For purely budget everyday prints, cheaper alternatives exist.

The brand’s materials tend to have higher availability through the European warehouse in the Netherlands; delivery in the Czech Republic is usually within 5 working days.
Discussions on the Bambu Lab forum openly acknowledge that most filaments in this price tier come from a handful of Chinese factories and differ mainly in packaging and marketing. This means the properties of Bambu Lab PLA Basic in a blind test often come close to other PLAs from a similar factory. The difference comes from quality control (Bambu tests a larger percentage of spools) and RFID integration.

Price is the main advantage. Sunlu PLA in the Czech Republic ranges around 320 to 450 CZK/kg depending on color and packaging, PETG around 380 to 480 CZK. When buying multiple spools in a bundle, the price can drop below 300 CZK/kg, which is well below Polymaker, Prusament, and Bambu Lab levels.
The compromise is consistency. Discussions on the Prusa forum contain recurring reports that Sunlu PETG fluctuates in extrusion quality between batches; some spools show higher stringing and worse layer adhesion. Users report that Sunlu PLA runs reliably, but PETG requires more careful temperature tuning and drying before printing. On top of that, Sunlu sells affordable filament dryers, which have become standard equipment among users.
Who Sunlu suits: prototyping, education, kids’ projects, occasional high-volume prints (cosplay, decorations), and users who don’t need consistency between spools. For functional mechanical parts or commercial use, more stable brands exist.

For Czech customers, shipping fees are essentially zero and delivery happens within 24 hours. Abroad, Prusament is more expensive due to logistics costs, which the community on the Prusa forum cites as the reason Prusament sells with a higher markup in the US.
Prusament’s weak point is a more limited palette of exotic colors and missing common PLA+ variants (Prusa offers only classic PLA and a higher-toughness PLA under a different name). Engineering materials (nylon, carbon, polycarbonate): Prusament PA11-CF and PC Blend or Polymaker PolyMide CoPA. Sunlu is essentially a non-factor in this category; Bambu Lab offers PA-CF and PETG-CF, which are fully tuned for the X1C with a hardened nozzle.
Practical tips for buying and storage
Regardless of brand, filament is a hygroscopic material, and moisture in the packaging or storage area will significantly affect print results. PETG, ABS, and nylon are more sensitive than PLA, but even PLA absorbs moisture during long-term storage without protection. A filament dryer (Sunlu S2, S4, Polymaker PolyDryer) or vacuum storage bags with silica gel belong in the basic toolkit.
When trying a new brand, it pays to start with a single spool, work through profile tuning, and only then buy a larger volume. With the Bambu Lab AMS system, keep in mind that spools from other brands don’t have an RFID chip, and the profile has to be set manually.
